New speed cameras go live in Chattanooga

You might want to slow down. Chattanooga is activating three new speeding cameras today. Police say the cameras are going in some of the city’s most dangerous spots: one on Mountain Creek Road near Red Bank Elementary, one on Norcross Road in Hixson, and another on Germantown Road between I-24 and Brainerd Road. Accidents on those roads are about double the state average. The city’s new cameras come just a month after county officials were slammed with complaints about proposed speed cameras - and voted against them.
