Deadly weekend of motorcycle crashes in Chattanooga

Two people died in three motorcycle crashes in Chattanooga over the weekend. 22-year-old Alec Newby was killed when he struck a tree Saturday morning on Shallowford Road. 46-year-old Larry Clyde Lowe Jr. was killed when his Harley Davidson struck a guardrail on Access Road just after midnight on Monday. And a few hours later, 22-year-old Rachel Hensen was ejected when the motorcycle she was on struck a vehicle on Interstate 24. Police say Hensen was thrown into another lane of traffic where a motorist ran over her leg and drove away. She was taken to a hospital for injuries to her head and broken bones, and is listed in critical condition. So far, five people have died in motorcycle accidents in Chattanooga this year.
