Chattanooga Update - January 29, 2015

Police are searching for 54-year-old Geoffrey Deane Peterson, who operated two medical practices in Chattanooga. State officials have suspended his nursing license and say his actions present an extreme danger to his patients and the public. Peterson is accused of hoarding more than 60 animals in a home in Dunlap. One dead puppy was found next to food in a freezer. Officials say some dogs were kept in exam rooms filled with feces at one of his clinics, while he was seeing patients. Now Peterson’s been charged with the willful neglect of his father, 88-year-old Walter Peterson, who is listed as his son’s supervising physician. Peterson’s clinics were raided by the DEA last week. One former patient believes he was running a pill mill.
